When is HPN open or closed?
We are open 7 days a week! 9am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday in the winter, 9 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Saturday during Spring, Summer and Fall as well as every Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm. The only holidays we are closed are Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Does HPN carry larger sizes?
We absolutely carry our plants in larger sizes. The largest size we keep in stock at the nursery are 30 gallons. If you are looking for even larger sizes we can usually find and bring in what you are looking for!
What plants are deer resistant?
Unfortunatley, there is no such thing as a 'deer proof' plant. When deer are hungry they will eat plants that are deemed as 'deer resistant'. On the bright side, we deal with customers everyday that have severe deer problems so we are always happy to suggest options that are TYPICALLY left alone by our whitetail friends.
What plants are salt tolerant?
There are tons of plants that are salt tolerant! To name a few common ones:
-Lantana
-Liriope
-Sweetgrass
-Live Oak
-Oleander
-Wax Myrtle
-Sabal palms
-Podocarpus
And so many more!
What houseplants are safe for my animals?
A lot of plants do have some sort of toxins in them but here are a few that are safe for your furry friends that we carry:
-Spider plants
-Boston ferns
-Calathea
-Lipstick plants
-Goldfish plants
-Ponytail palms
-Cast irons
-Areca palms
-Cat palms
-Rosemary or Lavender

Can I bring my family and dog to HPN?
You can absolutely bring your family to Hidden Ponds, we have over 10 acres to explore. From the butteryfly house, koi pond, barn cats, ducks, goats, chickens and pigs, there is fun for everyone. You are always welcome to bring your pets as well as long as they are on a leash!
Can I feed the animals at HPN?
Our animals love visitors and food, please use your own discretion when feeding as they are animals and have teeth so watch those fingers! Here are some suggestions our animals enjoy:
-Leafy greens
-Carrots
-Squashes (zucchini, pumpkin, etc.)
-Bell peppers
-Celery
-Peas
-Cucumbers
Is HPN wheelchair accessible?
HPN is made of smaller pea gravel as well as larger gravel. Motorized wheelchairs do best!
Does HPN do at home design consults?
Unfortunatley, we no longer do at home customer consults but we would be more than happy to help plan your landscaping if you come in with measurements and pictures of your space. We also have a list of landscapers that we suggest that can help as well. That list is located in our 'Resource Library'.
Can I special order plants from HPN?
If we do not have the plant or the amount of plants you're looking for at the nursery we can more than likely than likely order it in! We order new plants in the spring, summer and fall so as long as we can find what you're looking for plus base an order for the nursery around your special order, we can get it for you.
